Shamir Autograph® II

A New Visual Experience
Lens Family: EVERYDAY

Still not quite sure what the difference is between semi-finished PALs and Freeform® PALs? We’ve got you covered... semi-finished progressives are made when the progressive lens design is cast into a mold, the design is on the front and the patient’s Rx is later ground onto the back of the lens. Made at the lab, Freeform® lenses start from a single vision blank and are ground with precision using special machines. The design and the patient’s Rx are on the back of the lens.

Shamir Autograph® II with As-Worn Technology is available in four fixed fitting heights (11mm, 13mm, 15mm & 18mm) and takes into consideration the position of the patient’s frame and lenses, as they are worn on their face. In order to provide your patients a lens fully personalized to them, it is important to understand that their frame will have some panoramic angle, their lenses will be tilted due to the frame or how they wear their frame and that the lens may be closer or further away from the patient’s eye than that measured in the phoropter. Because we know there is a difference from how a patient sees through a phoropter versus the frame, we can compensate for these differences by utilizing a patient’s “as-worn” measurements.

To provide patients even better optics than ever before, we took Shamir Autograph® II to the next level by pumping up the level of personalization. With As-Worn Technology, we use three different measurements to create a lens that’s even better suited for the patient; with vertex distance, pantoscopic tilt and panoramic angle we can fine-tune the lens unlike ever before.
