National Sales Manager

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Sales and Business Development, the National Sales Manager (NSM) will lead nationwide team members and management to effectively achieve sales goals. He/she will establish and uphold productive professional relationships with major customers to provide innovative ideas for business growth throughout the organization.  

 

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct appropriate remediation and develop strategies to meet goals.
  • Plan, organize, establish agenda and execute on the Regional Managers Quarterly meetings, Annual National Sales and Mid-Year Meeting.
  • Oversee the Training Department, continuously improve on the tools, training and programs surrounding the Initial Sales Training (IST) and continuing training to Account executives.
  • Lead the improvement of Lens Rep and the creation and continuous development of dashboards to highlight success, challenges and lost business.
  • Assist Regional Manager/Human Resources to recruit account executive to fill open positions.
  • Establish with the Regional Managers and the Educational team creative programs and tools for the sales organization to improve productivity including marketing assets to be developed. 
  • Budget the sales revenues and costs associated with the education, account executive as well as business and market territory. monitor and approve the sales support budget expenses on a monthly basis.
  • Update HR on all aspects of employee relations associated with the Team.
  • Work from the San Diego office when not traveling.
  • Travel required up to 85%
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Sales, Business Administration or Finance
  • Proven work experience as a National Sales Manager  or similar level
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated flexibility in a dynamic team environment.
  • Proven ability to understand and analyze sales performance metrics.
  • Personal desire to work in a manner of continuous process improvement. 
  • Working within an organization to improve the IT tools and metrics the team utilizes to succeed on a daily basis. 
  • Proven experience
  • In preparing and managing expense, revenue targets, financial goals and metrics. 
  • In planning major sales events for internal team. 
  • Improving the processes, training, education and tools utilized by the sales team to succeed on a daily basis. 
  • Experience with personal computer and software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Windows, PowerPoint, Sales Logix etc.
  • Knowledge of CRM software or similar platform.
  • Must be able to exemplify strong leadership skills to resolve conflict, overcome obstacles and motivate a sales team.
  • Optical Industry experience.
